Flu Jab in Cambridge – Milton Road Pharmacy
Thank you for your interest in the flu vaccination service at Milton Road Pharmacy. The NHS flu vaccination service for season 2024/2025 will start on 3rd of October as ruled by NHS England. Pregnant women can be vaccinated as a part of free NHS service from the beginning of September 2024.
We are now taking private flu jab bookings.
What flu vaccinations do we offer?
We will be offering free NHS flu vaccination service to eligible patients and private service. For 2024/2025 the price of private flu jab will be £16 per vaccination. Private service is offered to children over 12 years of age and adults.
Free NHS flu jab in Cambridge
The following group of people are eligible for a free NHS flu jab (NHS England, 2022):
- patients aged 65 years or over (including those becoming age 65 years
by 31 March 2024) - adults aged from 18 to 64 years who fall into a ‘clinical risk’ category:
- chronic (long-term) respiratory disease, for example, asthma that requires
continuous or repeated use of inhaled or systemic steroids or with
previous exacerbations requiring hospital admission; chronic
obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or bronchitis - chronic heart disease and vascular disease, such as heart failure
- chronic kidney disease at stage 3, 4 or 5
- chronic liver disease
- chronic neurological diseases, such as Parkinson’s disease or motor
neurone disease, - learning disability
- diabetes and adrenal insufficiency
- asplenia or dysfunction of the spleen
- a weakened immune system due to disease (such as HIV/AIDS) or treatment (such as cancer treatment)
- morbidly obese adults with a BMI of 40kg/m2 and above
- chronic (long-term) respiratory disease, for example, asthma that requires
- Additionally:
- all pregnant women
- adult household contacts (aged 18 years and over) of immunocompromised individuals, who expect to share living accommodation on most days over the winter and, therefore, for whom continuing close contact is unavoidable
- adults (aged 18 years and over) living in long-stay residential care homes or other long-stay care facilities, excluding prisons, young offender institutions, university halls of residence or boarding schools
- adults (aged 18 years and over) who are in receipt of a carer’s allowance, or those who are the main carer of an older or disabled person
- frontline health and social care staff (aged 18 years and over) without employer-led occupational health schemes

We are located on 123 Milton Road, CB4 1XE, Cambridge. It is possible to park a car for free in nearby streets: Oak Tree Avenue, Highworth Ave, Arbury Road. Free parking is available directly in the front of the pharmacy.
