Medicines delivery

Milton Road Pharmacy offers a free delivery service of medicines to all patients located in CB4 area who are over 65 or housebound. Patients who want their medicines delivered by Milton Road Pharmacy need to get in touch with the pharmacy and request their medicines to be delivered. New and current patients can call us on 01223353015 to arrange delivery of prescriptions dispensed in Milton Road Pharmacy.

New patients can also use our online nomination form to get their medicines dispensed by Milton Road Pharmacy and choose a collection from the pharmacy or free delivery service.

Free delivery of medicines in Cambridge: FAQ

What happens to my medicines if I am not at home?

We will attempt to deliver your medicines on two occasions, usually on consecutive days (excluding Sundays), unless contact is made with the pharmacy and a different delivery day is requested. After two attempts we will keep your medicines in the pharmacy. Patients can collect their medicines once the driver comes back from the delivery round.

Can you leave my medicines in a ‘safe place’?

Patients can request their medicines to be delivered to a safe place when no one is present at home. This could your neighbour or another address in Cambridge (within CB4 postcode). Patients need to give us consent (verbal instructions and agreement) to deliver their medicines to an alternative, ‘safe place’.

Can you post my medicines in a letterbox?

We can post patient’s medicines through a letterbox, providing it is safe to do so and only when consent is given to us. Multiple medicines can be placed in separate bags to allow the complete delivery to be placed through the letterbox.

Important: controlled drugs and fridge items will not be posted through a letterbox.

What days of the week do you deliver?

We deliver patient’s medicine Monday-Saturday.

What time do you deliver medicines?

We start delivery of medicines around 11:30. The exact delivery time will vary from day to day as it depends on the number of drops.

Do you offer emergency delivery of medicines in Cambridge?

We understand that sometimes patients are unable to leave their homes due to unforeseen circumstances. If medicines medicine(s) are needed urgently, for example, same-day delivery, please call the pharmacy to arrange delivery. We may arrange delivery in an emergency as long as the request is made before 12 pm on the day of request.
