How does weight service work?

Weight loss medication will be provided in 28-day increments, ensuring that progress with weight management and treatment effectiveness is reviewed before each new supply. Patients will be scheduled for evaluations every 4 weeks to monitor their progress and adjust the treatment plan as needed.

For specific medications such as Mysimba, Saxenda, and Mounjaro (Tirzepatide), a minimum of 4 weeks is required to gradually adjust the dose from the initial starting dose to the recommended maintenance dose.

At each appointment, the following checks will be performed:

• Weight, BMI, and optionally waist circumference, to assess whether the treatment and lifestyle changes are leading to positive outcomes.
• An assessment of whether the prescribed treatment continues to be effective.

After 12 weeks of continuous treatment at the maintenance dose, the patient’s weight will be reassessed to determine if they have achieved the target weight loss of greater than 5% of their starting weight.
